Cincinnati Storm (Ohio) Organization Making Fifth
Straight USA Hockey InLine National Championships
Appearance

ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- The Cincinnati Storm (Ohio)
organization is appearing in its fifth straight USA
Hockey InLine National Championships here at The
Cooler. There are three Storm teams competing for
national titles this week at the 2002 USA Hockey
InLine National Championships: 10-and-Under,
14-and-Under and 17-and Under.

The Cincinnati Storm competed in the first season of
USA InLine Regional Championships in 1996 but did not
qualify for the national tournament. However, the
Cincinnati Youth Inline Hockey Association has
qualified for and fielded at least one team in every
National Championship since, making it one of the few
inline hockey leagues to participate in five straight
Nationals.

At the conclusion of the third day of competition, the
17-and-Under Storm squad holds a 1-4-0 record, the
14-and-Unders are 1-4-1, and the 10-and-Under team is
0-5-0.

"I believe that USA Hockey InLine puts on the only
true National Championship for inline hockey," said Al
Rountree (Cincinnati, Ohio), league director of the
Cincinnati Youth Inline Hockey Association. "They're
in it for the right reasons, which is why we've been
involved since Day 1."

The USA Hockey InLine National Championships serve as
the nation's premier youth inline hockey event. This
year's tournament showcases 45 teams in six age
divisions and is the culmination of 10 USA Hockey
InLine Regional Championships held earlier this
spring. Teams will compete for national titles in the
10-and-Under, 12-and-Under, 14-and-Under and
17-and-Under age divisions. In addition, this year's
event features USA Hockey InLine's first-ever Girls'
National Championships, in the 12-and-Under and
17-and-Under categories.

The tournament is being held at The Cooler for the
first time in the history of the event. Tournament
play officially began on July 31 and will continue
through Sunday, Aug. 4. Statistics and game results
are posted on www.USAHockeyInLine.com at the
conclusion of each game. Live audiocasts of selected
games are also available online through the Internet
Broadcasting Service Unit (IBSU).
